Vote to Elect
Christopher Persons
Alderman 48th Ward

Christopher Persons with Jennifer and Alex

Party Affiliation

Chris Persons talking with a neighborI noticed that it does not state if Christopher is Democrat or Republican. I realize that it may not matter as much on a city level. Hoewever, it does matter to me.
- Darren

I am a Democrat and have voted Democratic for my entire life. However, I understand loud and clear the sentiment of 48th Ward residents like 83 year old Mrs. Johnson who told me that she would never vote for a local Democrat again after seeing the hand-me-down politics of the midterm elections.

People are weary of having their democratic franchise taken away. My opponent in this election was appointed and has never faced a serious electoral challenge. Throughout our local government elected seats are passeded down to family members or staffers without regard to a democratic process.

In our Ward, our current appointed Alderman was a staffer in the previous Alderman's office who had been a staffer in the previous Alderman's offce. It is time for a change. It is time to put a stop to this cynical approach to democracy.

If you elect me Alderman of the 48th I will be independent of this old-time system and will represent you, the voter.

By the way, Darren, Aldermanic races are nonpartisan. Thank you for the question!

What the neighbors are saying

Chris, I've never met you, but from what I hear we share a similar vision for how the 48th should be run. Status quo won't cut it.
