We believe in representative and accountable public leadership: All voices should be heard As Alderman Chris will represent the citizens of the community and be accountable for decisions that affect our lives.
We are stewards of the Earth: As a member of city council, Chris will work on issues that will help the environment, curb-side recycling and public transportation that works in neighborhoods.
Basic human needs are the responsibility of a just society: Affordability and fairness in housing are vital for a just and vibrant society; Chris will work to support the balanced development ordinance and world-class housing policy. He will also support programs like Care for Real that help to feed our most vulnerable families.
We value diversity: We value living in a community that brings people together from all over the world – increasing tolerance and cooperation between cultures and ethnic groups. Chris will set policies for development that will not blindly displace our neighbors but will encourage good change and development that rises to our values.
We make our community what it is: Our block clubs should be venues for building a sense of community and we should seek to build public space for gathering and sharing ideas.
We must provide opportunity for all of our children: our schools should receive our highest attention and our children and young people need space and activities that are safe and healthy.
